Want to become more sustainable?
Have you always wanted the gratification of growing your own food and serving it to people only to have them brag on how great it tastes?
Do you want to start a new hobby that has more benefits than you can count?
We’ve got the class for you. Nikki, as many of you might know, is going to guide you through the not so complicated world of Urban Gardening. As you may or may not know, you don’t need 40 acres and a mule to have a successful agricultural plot – it could be as simple as a small plastic tub! Urban gardening is a great opportunity to get more in touch with the food you eat and your impact on the environment. Nikki has taught a few of these classes before, so if you’ve been to one, you know what you’re getting into!
What you can expect to learn from Nikki, The Urban Farmer:
- growing techniques
- fertilization (conventional vs. organic)
- integrated pest management
- usage of complimentary planting
- alternative growing ideas
- heirlooms and traditional varieties
- amendments
- community gardening
Bring your notebook and get ready to take notes. This is a fairly fast moving, super informational class! Afterwards, we will have a question and answer section and a demonstration planting in our raised bed garden.
